Jonathan was born in New York and raised in Los Angeles, where he began writing stories and making videos as a child. As he grew up he took to acting and performance, a course which continued through his years at UC Berkeley, where he first produced original plays for the stage, and trained in yoga & modern dance.

After traveling alone across Europe, Southeast Asia, and India, Jonathan graduated from Berkeley with a degree in English & Social Theory, and submitted a 100 page thesis on Creativity (read it here).  His final project at Berkeley was a rendition of Chekov's The Seagull, his tenth full length production.

Jonathan returned to New York City to pursue acting and produce theatre.  In 2006 he produced & directed two feature art films, Tale of the Tribe and The Fall, which explore love and loss in the 21st century.  In 2007 he traveled to Costa Rica & the Galapagos, to collect material for a feature documentary Evolutions - an exploration of the science, religion, & philosophy of  life one Earth.

In 2008, Jonathan produced & directed his third feature film, Autodoc - the story of a collective of socially progressive artists who film and document their unexpected rise to fame, and the chaos that follows (loosely based on Dada revolution of 1916).  Later that year, he finished the manuscript for his first novel, an epic spiritual romance inspired by the events and characters from Tale of the Tribe.

Jonathan currently lives in Hollywood.
